A bedside lamp - one that uses the smart phone's flashlight and by superior optical properties, converts the flashlight into a soft, night light. We addressed the habit of going to sleep with the cell-phone on the nightstand into a useful new object, one that utilizes the inherent properties of the smartphone, the build-in flashlight, front camera and screen. 

The UpLamp is managed by an intuitive gesture-controlled app. By a hand clap or a wave of user's hand, the UpLamp dim or turn off. It can be synchronized with sleeping cycles and turn off automatically by a gentle dim.
